Dropbox is such a popular cloud storing solution that you’re undoubtedly familiar with it. If you’re not, here’s the quick lowdown: you create an account, install Dropbox on your desktop or mobile, then start saving files in a special Dropbox folder; said files will be uploaded to the cloud and synced across your devices. Thus you always have easy access to all the files you upload to Dropbox and you can very easily share them with others.

So as I was saying above, with Dropbox you can easily upload files to the cloud and share them with others. Is this convenient? Quite so! But is it very safe? If you’re worried about security risks, then go get Viivo and it will put your mind at ease. You see, this is a handy tool that will help you protect the data you share via cloud storage services. You can use it to encrypt your Dropbox files and share files only with the people you choose.

Viivo is available for the Windows or Mac OS X desktop and for iOS and Android smartphones.
To get Viivo up and running on a Windows-powered machine you must download an installer, run it, and then go through the instructions presented by a setup wizard. Once you’re done with the installation you will have to create an account and log in. And after you’re done signing in, you will be presented with a prompt that invites you to check out some tutorial videos (encrypt your data, decrypt your data, share encrypted data, and other video tutorials).

Dropbox users will immediately feel at home with Viivo – and that’s because the two applications work in a similar fashion. There’s a special Dropbox/ Viivo folder, there’s a Dropbox/Viivo icon in the system tray, you can access the settings menu from the system tray icon. Again, I remind you that there are some handy video tutorials you can view; so if you have any problems getting started with Viivo or figuring out how to use the application, go check them out.

Speaking about using Viivo, here is what you can expect to get from the application, from a functionality point of view: encrypt Dropbox files and folders; access your secure files in the cloud; share files solely with the people you trust.

Viivo is free for personal and commercial use.

Make sure the files you upload and share via Dropbox are safe by using Viivo, an application that allows you to “cloud in confidence” by encrypting and letting you safely share files.

Pros

Viivo is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android. Creating an account is a simple matter. You are invited to view some handy video tutorials. As a Dropbox user, you will immediately feel at home with Viivo. Use Viivo to secure the files you share via Dropbox. Viivo is free for personal and commercial use.

Cons

None that I could think of. UPDATE, June 20, 2017 – The Viivo Team announced that the Free, Pro and Business versions of Viivo will reach end-of-life on July 1, 2017. The Viivo servers will keep working until July 1, 2018 to allow customers to move their data to another encryption solution.
